The deadline to submit your entries is 30th November 2023.

A panel of independent judges will review the submissions and select up to two winners. The overall winner’s prize is a brand-new laptop. The runners up will receive a three month fully paid for internship at MakanDay. The judges may also name up to two honourable mentions who will be invited to an award ceremony hosted by MakanDay.

All entries should include biographies and pictures of entrants and each entry in Journalism.

The entries submitted by the winners and finalists will be posted on the MakanDay website (https://www.makanday.com/) and social media platforms.

Guidelines

• Entries must uncover abuse of power, corruption or expose injustice.

• You may submit your own work, or you may nominate the work of someone else. If you nominate another’s work, please obtain their permission to do so.

• Entries must have appeared in print, online or broadcast media between 01st January and 15th November 2023. Any entry not originally written/produced in English must be accompanied by a translation.

• If an entry only appeared in print, please include a scan. If a scan produces an unclear result, please also include a transcript (Word document or PDF) of the article.

• If an entry is broadcast journalism (TV, radio, online video) please send a link or file.
